Remote Work Visa

To get the best from this remote working experience you’ll need to apply for a 6 months temporary visa. Once your request gets accepted, you’ll receive a permit entry to the country.

Make sure your passport is valid for 6 months(minimum) and you have all the documentation required.

So, what will you need to get on board on the Cabo Verde Remote Working Program?

Please note the following requirements:

The Cabo Verde Remote Working Program is eligible for anyone from Europe, North America, Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) and Economic Community of West African States (CEDEAO).

You’ll need to have a passport valid for 6 months to enroll on this Remote Working Program.

You’ll be required to present your proof of income as an individual or as a family, regarding at least the last 6 months.

  • Individual: minimum average bank balance of 1.500€ on the last 6 months;
  • Family: minimum average bank balance of EUR 2.700€ on the last 6 months;

Please consider that you must have a travel and health insurance with coverage for evacuation and body transportation in the case of death.

According to the World Health Organization guidelines regarding COVID-19 and capeverdean laws, you must submit a negative PCR test to COVID-19 or a complete vaccination scheme in order to entry the country.

APPLICATION PROCESS

To APPLY for the temporary VISA for 6 months in Cabo Verde, please send an e-mail, with the documents/ information required:

Applicants who wish to apply for a temporary 6-months visa under the Remote Working Program must complete and submit the following documents/ informations electronically:

  • Passport size photo of the candidate(s)
  • Passport bio page of the candidate(s)
  • Proof of income and means of subsistence (account statement of the last 6 months or copy of last 3 monthly salary receipts)
  • Individual health and travel insurance or family package
  • Copy of booking accommodation
  • Employment details:
    • Employer/ Company name (if applicable)
    • Brief description of the type of work/ nature of the business in which the candidate will be involved

Applicant: person who intends to stay and do remote work in Cape Verde.

Family group: applicant spouse, partner and dependent(s).

Dependent:

  • A child or stepson under the age of 6;
  • Any other relative who, due to age or any disease of the body or mind, is totally dependent on the applicant for their livelihood.

Length of stay: maximum 6 months from the date of approval with the possibility of renewal up to 12 months.

At arrival, approved applicants are required to submit to the border authorities, the following documents in order to receive the stamp:

  • Valid passaport for at least 6 months;
  • Copy of the application approval letter issued by Instituto de Turismo de Cabo Verde;
  • Copy of visa approval declaration issued by Direcção de Fronteiras e Estrangeiros;
  • Airport fee payment proof – 34,00€ / PAX;
  • Individual visa fee – 20,00€ / PAX .
